Instagram Just Added A New Feature That Could Signal The Downfall Of Snapchat

If you've been waiting for Instagram to add filters to their Instastories then your wait is finally over. Facebook, the social media giant and owner of Instagram, announced today that their very own filters are now available. You can choose from eight different Instagram filters: crowns, ones that make a person look like a koala or a rabbit, and another that sends math equations spinning around your head.

You can access the features by downloading the update on App Store or Google Play Store. Instagram’s filters will work whether you’re using the front or the back camera on your phone. You can find the filters by opening up the camera interface in the app and tapping the new icon in the bottom right corner.
The update will include a feature which allows users to apply hashtags directly to their stories. The story will be added to any hashtag searches and you will now be able to other Insta users stories. Facebook has taken several of Snapchats ideas and incorporated them into the Instagram app including the 24-hour content feature.

In terms of popularity, is Instagram about to overtake Snapchat?
