The Rolling Stones Spoke About Spice Bags At Croker And The Crowd Went Wild

You'd imagine that a band with the collective age of most singers on the top 40 wouldn't be associated with Ireland's quintessential hangover food but yes, it's true, the Rolling Stone love an aul spice bag.

Performing to 70,000 Jagger stopped for a breather and spoke to the crowd about the Stones love for Ireland and had to drop two of Ireland's icons in to the mix - spice bags and Temple Bar.

After declaring “The four of us went out in Temple Bar and ended up sharing a spice bag!” the band probably received the loudest cheer of the night, including a shout out to Termonfeckin and Kildare. Guitarist Ronnie Wood owns a house in the county.

Fans and Twitter users reacted to the spice bag declaration and felt truly humbled by the experience:

While performing classics like 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' from their 1969 album 'Let It Bleed', fans shared inspirational tweets about the Stones being such performers even though they're all over the age of 70:

Keith Richards remained a rock n' roll icon as he was photographed ignoring Crokers no smoking policy during a rehearsal of the set:

Whether or not Jagger & Co ate the spice bag in Templebar in front of the Molly Malone Statue as the walked backwards around the Spire doesn't actually matter. The classic spice bag is now a part of Rock N' Roll history and a pop cultural highlight from 2018.
