The J1 is back and applications are now open for summer 2018! Students can now make the booking after USIT announced on Twitter yesterday that the applications are open:

The programme looked like it was on shaky grounds just a few short weeks ago with news that the Trump administration was planning to drop the J1 programme. The possibility of the programme being canceled came after Trump announced an executive order to "Buy American and Hire American" which brought about a review of US immigration policies.
In September Irish and international students shared their J1 stories all over social media with the hashtag #savethej1. Many shared that the J1 was part of the college experience for many students and to remove the programme would be devastating.

USIT is offering an early bird offer of €99 for the basic J1 package and €399 for the premium to students who book before the 24th November. The premium includes helping you secure employment before you hit the States.
