Being an older sibling is a huge responsibility. It's your job to be a good role model to the younger generation all the while taking a constant barrage of pressure and blame from your parents. Here are just a few of the truths you'll know if you're an older sister.
1) Your parents blame you for everything, simply because you’re the oldest.
2) But, on the plus side, you get first dibs on everything. Because you’re the oldest and LIFE.
3) You are an absolute expert babysitter, because you've had SO much practice.
4) But do you ever get any compensation for giving up your free time? Nope.

5) If you have a younger sister you'll understand the pain of her stealing ALL of your stuff. And legit never getting it back. (Never saw your favourite jacket again, didya?)
6) But at least everything you had growing up was shiny and new. Hand-me-downs? Never heard of them.
7) Whenever your younger sibling got in trouble, your mum would yell at you. Erm, the flying fuck did I do?
8) Whenever they get in serious trouble, they're too young to understand. Psh.
9) You feel a ridiculous, overwhelming responsibility to protect them and keep them out of trouble, which never ever goes away.

12) You feel weird when they start to grow up, and have relationships and are getting drunk. Getting drunk phone calls from your little sister will never be normal.
13) Once you start driving, you are their personal taxi service. Seriously, you'll be driving them everywhere cause they inevitably have a better social life than you.

14) Your parents were so, so, SO strict towards you, but your younger siblings get away with murder. Boys sleeping over? Sure why not.
15) Being the eldest comes with a strict code for weird stories and memories, which means only you can reveal them to people. To embarrass your younger sibling. Obviously.
16) They were always the guinea pig for trying out dangerous things before you did. "I promise, if you jump off that wall first I'll definitely do it after" said no one ever. Sorry, not sorry.
17) You're always the one who gets the "don't tell mum and dad" phone call. Before having to go and rescue them from some stupid situation, of course.

18) You've spent years being the one who spends ALL OF THE MONEY buying birthday and Christmas presents for your parents from both of you. Which you now know, you're never going to be repaid for.

21) Despite all the annoyances, they're pretty much your favourite person in the world and you'd do anything for them.
