It's All Over! Why You Should Celebrate Your New Single life

Not all relationships are going to work out. Breakups always suck, whether you're being dumped or are doing the dumping. There's nothing fun about them, however, there are some silver linings to being newly single. It didn't work out for a reason and now you can focus on yourself. Here's why you should be happy that the relationship is over. Here's why you should celebrate your new single life;

1) You Can Rediscover Yourself

A lot of the time, we tend to mask certain aspects of our personalities or interests in favour of our partners. Sometimes without even realising we are doing it. Now you're free and single to rediscover all your favourite things to do - even if that was doing nothing on a Saturday morning but marathoning on Netflix.

2) More Free Time

You no longer have to worry about anyone else's schedule but your own. You don't need to check in with anyone or try to figure out when it suits you to go away or go on a date. Now it's all about you. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, with whoever you want; jobs and other responsibilities permitting.

3) The Relationship Wasn't Working

Even if you happened to think that every day you spent with your ex was all sunshine and rainbows, it clearly wasn't if you broke up. If you want to try again, at least remind yourself that it already didn't work out once. Remind yourself that this is your time to focus on you. Enjoy being single for a bit.

4) You Only Have To Deal With Your Bad Habits

Did they snore or talk in their sleep? Were they messy, never picking up dirty towels or washing dishes? Where they insanely jealous and insecure all the time? Well, it doesn't matter anymore, you only have to accommodate your own bad traits that annoyed them: biting your nails and constantly singing off key.

5) Time To Re-Examine & Re-Invent

If you ever felt stifled by your relationship, now is the time to figure out what you want to do with your life. You could reinvent yourself, or try something that you've always wanted to, but that your ex always held you back from. Nothing is stopping you from reaching your full potential.

6) Don't Have To Put Up With Their Friends (Or Yours)

If your friends and family complained about your ex, you can let them say that they told you so and move on. You also no longer have to put up with their friends that you never really liked in the first place.

7) No More Toxicity

If you were with a person who was physically draining to be around, who chastised you and always brought you down, you no longer have to put up with that. If you were with someone who constantly disapproved of everything you loved, now it's done. You can do whatever you like, you can be whoever you like. Especially if the person you want to be is solely a happier version of you, you deserve it.

8) You're Free

So yeah, breaking up with someone does suck, but now you have the freedom to go out and flirt and meet people and find someone new and better. Someone who might end up being a much more fitting match for you. Someone who will make you feel loved and who will make you fall in real love. Because your relationship failed, now you know what you don't want. I'm not saying to forget about all the good times, by all means do. But don't pine for them, you have a load more options out there, and now you're free to go out and find them.
