To celebrate the release of a great app for lazy students, we've compiled a list of life hacks that will help you, my lazy student friend, make the most of your time and money. Jibbr is a new app for exchanging favours, quick money and organising activities. Bored, broke, need help or extra cash? Jibbr is designed to make your life easier. All you do is post about your need, with either a price for its completion or a favour in exchange. Excited yet? Here's how you can use some college hacks (and your new Jibbr app) to sort your college life out... and save a few bob along the way.
1) How To Make Money By Missing Lectures
Maybe you're too sick/hungover/lazy to attend one of your morning lectures. Ask one of your friends to attend it for you, copy their notes for you, sign your name on the attendance list or, most importantly, record the lecture for you. In return, you could do the same for them at another stage... or you could pay them! If you do get a recording of the lecture, use Audible or VLC player to speed it up, slow it down, fast-forward or rewind it - this will make your study time shorter, more efficient, and you get an extra lie-in. You can even use Jibbr again afterwards, to advertise this handy little recording to other classmates who may have missed the lecture. Sorted!
2) No Time Or Cash To Throw A Great College Party?
If you don't have time to stock up yourself, use Jibbr to ask your friends to bring beer/mixers for the night and offer cash or a favour in return. When they arrive with all the beer, use large paper clips to help stack them in your fridge. No college student has a big enough fridge to accommodate all their booze. Tip: If the beer needs to be chilled fast, wrap the bottles in damp paper towels before you put them in the fridge. That should chill them out real quick.
3) Cash For Notes
Lecture notes are a hot commodity on campus. Tip: use different coloured pens when taking notes and it will stand out more in your mind - you'll be using visual and literal memory. If you have high-quality notes on any topic, you can use Jibbr to sell or trade them. Enterprising.
4) Wardrobe Update On The Cheap
Trying to slim down your wardrobe and you know that some of your friends love those items that you're just not into anymore? Use Jibbr to either sell off your clothes or exchange your cast-offs for somebody else's. Fix up old reliables by using a razor to get rid of fluff balls on your cardigan or woolly jumpers. Learn to sew to fix up rips, tears, and missing buttons. Don't go around with ripped-up soles, just glue them back on. You'll look less like a hobo. If you're stuck for space in your teeny tiny student wardrobe, use ring pulls from beer/soda cans to hook hangers onto hanger. Instant space made!
5) Jibbr For Food
The internet has vast amounts of sites dedicated to food hacks. From chopping tomatoes between two plates to heating two bowls of food in the microwave by putting one of them on top of a mug! Genius! But what happens if you don't have any food to eat? Jibbr your mates and one of them can pick up your groceries, so you don't have to. Or, if you're too hungover to get food to feed your broken mess of a body, put it up on Jibbr and hope that some kind soul will venture out to get you an almighty chicken roll. If you're into a wee bit of baking, why not use your baking skills as a commodity. You get stuff done for you and they get cookies. Win-win.
