Will Saul @ The Twisted Pepper

Beatyard Presents; English DJ, Producer and record label owner Will Saul at The Twisted Pepper this Wednesday, the 23rd of October.
Through his early life, Saul was destined for musical success.  As a piano, sax and timpani player as a child, he began buying his own records at the age of 8, branching into R&B and soul, while keeping up to date on the Top 40 Charts aswell.  At the age of 16, he discovered dance music.  It wasn't long before he had saved up enough money to buy his own turntables and a mixer and after only two years, Will had won Muzik's contest "Bedroom Bedlam" for his music talent.

Ten years down the line,  Saul has had a steadily increasing success.  Now proud owner of two record labels, Simple Records and Aus Records, which boast music releases of artists such as Bicep, Dusky, George FitzGerald and Midland.

Take a listen to his original track "Mbira" here, and if it seems like your cup of tea, check out the link below for tickets on Resident Advisor for just €12.

After only launching in December 2012, Cédric and Edgar, otherwise known as Klingande, have really had major success in less than 12 months, claiming their inspiration from the likes of Wankelmut, Klangkarussell and Bakermat.

The French duo are set to play Electric Garden, Galway, this Thursday 24th of October.

Not living in Galway? Catch them again when they play The Grand Social, Dublin this Friday, 25th of October, with the best of Bedlam DJ’s supporting on the night.

Although not included in Samhain Festival's official line up, Klingande have released an event poster mentioning the event on Sunday at Glendalough House being part of their 2013 tour... Guess we'll have to wait and see!  While waiting.. take a listen to this...

Marc "MK" Kinchen @ The Button Factory, Dublin

With all of his success, it has come as no surprise that he has completely SOLD OUT two shows, the first – on the 25th of October at the Button Factory, and the second – Bank Holiday Sunday, 27th of October at The Village, Dublin.

If you were one of the lucky ones to grab a ticket for either events before they sold out, expect the likes of these on the night!..

Storm Queen – Look Right Through (MK Dub III)

Bastille @ The Olympia Theatre

London based band Bastille take their winter tour to Dublin, and play a sold out show at The Olympia Theatre this Friday, 25th of October.

After forming in 2010, it wasn’t till the release of their fourth single “Pompeii” in February 2013, that Bastille hit number 2 in the UK charts, upon release of their first studio album titled “Bad Blood”.

Did you know the name 'Bastille' originates from the event ‘Bastille Day’ – lead member Daniel Smith’s birthday?  Interesting fact for the day there.

You'll probably have heard plenty of Bastille from the radio, recognising singles such as 'Pompeii', 'Laura Palmer' and 'The Things We Lost In The Fire'.  Check out their very original and different cover of Miley Cyrus' 'We Can't Stop', performed live on BBC's Radio 1 Live Lounge.

Zedd @ The Academy

Russian-German, electronic music producer and DJ Anton Zaslavski, otherwise known as Zedd, will play The Academy this Saturday 26th of October.  After primarily being a house music producer, Zedd has branched out into various genres; including dubstep and progressive house, this interest being said to been sparked after he began listening to French electronic duo Justice.

Zedd first hit the scene when he began making mixes on Beatport, and it was his production of Skrillex's "Scary Monsters and Nice Spirits" that made it to number two on the Beatport Electro House Top Ten Charts.

Take a listen to his most recent single: Stay The Night – featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore;

You might also recognise this track from the Geordie Shore season 6 trailer when the gang set off to Australia;

Samhain Festival @ Glendalough House, Wicklow

If you haven’t heard of it, Samhain (“Festival of the Dead”) is a one night, BYO, fancy dress event to celebrate when the doors to the ‘outside’ world open, allowing us to communicate with spirits. Seems pretty apt, with Halloween coming and all.

Presented by Bodytonic, Human Body, Bedlam, Life and Emergence events – Samhain Festival will host 4 stages with over 40 amazing acts.  Expect to hear the likes of Nina Kraviz, Todd Terje, Marcel Dettman and Frank B and many, many more on the night.

After a fairly rapid sell out of three separate ticket releases, Samhain Festival announced on their Facebook page that they were releasing another very limited number of tickets. They will be available today at 6pm, so get them quick before they sell out on www.tickets.ie!

Here's a little taster of what to expect this Bank Holiday Sunday..
