Women Are Posting 'Power Of Makeup' Pictures To Make An Important Point About Beauty

Makeup is so often seen as no more than something to cover up blemishes and alter how you actually look. It's an industry that plays on the insecurities of women, telling them that unless they use this mascara or blush, they won't look good enough, and women who use it are clearly only doing so to look good for a man.

But what about the girls that genuinely love makeup, of which there are oh so many. Beauty vlogger NikkieTutorials made this very point in a video saying that it seems to be a crime these day to say you love makeup. Well thousands of people agree and thus the #PowerofMakeup was born. Women who simply love makeup are posting pictures of their faces with their makeup half done, showing that they aren't covering up their faces by wearing foundation or eyeliner; rather they just enjoy the act of actually doing their makeup.

"Don't be ashamed or embarrassed that it makes you feel either a little bit better about yourself or a whole fucking lot better about yourself. It's all about how happy you are on the inside that counts most, and if drag queen makeup does that for you then bloody rock it out." — @donnabennettmakeup
"I love how makeup can enhance one's natural beauty or can completely transform someone. I don't wear makeup to impress anyone but myself, and that's how it should be."  @makeupby_jaz

"Because when someone asks who I'm trying to look good for, my answer is always 'myself.' I wear makeup because it's fun, not to hide my insecurities or to look nice for a boy." — @hajf_05
