Bob Geldof Told Trinity Students To Stop Caring About Transgender Rights

Bob Geldof is at it again with his against-the-grain comments. This time the musician/activist/curmudgeon has come to Dublin with the sole purpose of telling young people they're wrong and what they believe is crap.

In town to accept the Praeses Elit Award from the Law Society, Geldof told students at Trinity College to stop “banging on about transgender toilets” and start caring about something more important.

In what seems to be the most Baby Boomer advice ever, Geldof said students should instead become political activists, ya know, 'cause being socialists never helped anyone. Political activism has only ever ended up with a positive outcome thoroughout history, from my memory.

According to Pink News, Geldof said the focus should be on the fact that many “hadn’t had a pay rise for eight years”

“Europe desperately needs reform; it is sclerotic, constipated, it needs some laxative to clear it out,” he added.

Like many older citizens, he wants the youth to clean up the mess his generation started.

“You guys are inheriting a deeply significant moment. My generation has failed more spectacularly than most – you have Brexit, Trump, the referendum in Italy, le Pen in France…”, he said.

I think we'll stick to fighting for what we want, thanks Bob.
