Huzzah! Date Announced For When Derry Girls Season 2 Will Come To Our Screens!
We finally have the news we've all been waiting for, the date our wait comes to and. Nicola Coughlan has revealed that the first episode of Derry Girls season 2 will debut on Tuesday 5 March at 9:15pm on Channel 4.
The show was a runaway success when it debuted in early 2018, quickly becoming one of the most talked about shows of the year. It was not long before a second season was commissioned.
Since then fans have been clamouring for a return of the girls. With filming for the second season taking place toward the end of 2018 it was known that the second season would probably be broadcast in early 2019.
Well, with filming wrapped, and it being announced some weeks ago that it would be sooner rather than later before the second season debuted, fans have been awaiting this announcement.
There was a special screening of the first two episodes of the new season at a cinema in Derry on Monday. It was put on for the cast and crew and a select number of fans. Initial reactions from these screenings was extremely positive, with one of the episodes being described as the show's best episode.
