Escaped Red Panda Returns To Zoo Safely After Night Out In Belfast

A red panda went missing from Belfast Zoo yesterday and Zoologists seemed very nonchalant about the whole thing.

The Panda went missing around Glengormly on Sunday, and Twitter led a beautiful story of what the panda was up to before it was safely found and brought back to its home in Belfast zoo.

It began when the panda went missing on Sunday afternoon, where residents in the surrounding area were told to be vigilant and keep an eye out for their missing friend. The police warned the panda was out 'To take in the views of Glengormly' while on a 'surprise vacation'.

During the whole event, police, the zoo, and different services all seemed pretty chill about the fact that there was a wild animal on the loose around Belfast.

The public were told to be cautious, but not to be afraid. The red panda is a relaxed animal and is not considered dangerous, although it will take necessary actions if cornered. Police asked residents to be on the lookout and to call the helpline with any sightings of the little guy, and not to try and catch him themselves. Who wouldn't want this cutie for a pet? Look at his little face!

The Panda was located not too long after it went missing, earlier on today. The community of Glengormley are delighted that he made it home safely, but there's also that bittersweet disappointment that there is no longer a wild red panda wandering around their neighbourhood.

Belfast Zoo expressed their gratitude for everyone who helped locate their furry friend, and thanked the council for spreading the word.

This Red Panda is one of the four endangered red pandas in Belfast Zoo, with this guy and another only being born last year.
