Only yesterday Will Smith shared a post about being the live action Genie in Aladdin, made famous by Robin Williams, and now we've finally got our hands on a teaser trailer.
The live-action remake, directed by Guy Ritchie, will follow the plot of the original animated classic released in 1992. The story follows a 'street rat' who dreams of riches, fame, and glory who's giving a helping hand by a Genie. Mena Massoud will play Aladdin and Naomi Smith Princess Jasmine - whether or not the pair will sing 'A Whole New World' is another story. Marwan Kenzari will star as Jafar, the evil sorcerer who plots to take over the kingdom.
The teaser includes Jafar's evil parrot sidekick Iago and fans will be relieved to hear that Abu, Aladdin's sidekick, and Raja, Jasmine's sidekick, will also be making an appearance in some capacity.
While we're not sure if it'll capture the magic of the original, it looks like it's going to try:
Aladdin will be released on May 24, 2019.
