Watch: Cleganebowl Behind The Scenes Is Nearly As Epic As The Fight Itself

Whatever your opinion on season 8 of Game Of Thrones, the epic fight between the Clegane brothers was one of the standout moments of the season. The Hound vs The Mountain. Sandor vs Gregor. Alive vs dead. Cleganebowl has been one of the most hyped up and anticipated book theories, and fans were delighted to see it come true.

The fight was brutal onscreen, but was brutal for the actors too. Hafþór Bjornsson (the Frankenmountain) had to get up at midnight to make it for an 8 am call. A ridiculous seven and a half hours of makeup and prosthetics. It was tough on Rory McCann too. As you may be aware Hafþór is currently the World's Strongest Man, and most of the scenes with the Mountain throwing the Hound were done by the two men for real.

The fight had some poetic justice to it. The Hound was born when Gregor Clegane shoved his little brother Sandor's face into the fire, and The Hound died in the dragonfire covering King's Landing. He had his revenge and conquered his fear of fire. Cleganebowl lived up to its hype.

Seeing what goes into such an incredible fight scene is fascinating. The action starts from the 21-minute mark in this video.
