This Dun Laoghaire Legend Has Stolen Our Hearts

If you've ever been to Dun Laoghaire, you'll no doubt have see a little chaotic shop down on the corner of Upper Georges Street. It's known as a local institution, and locals were delighted when the owner John was featured on Humans of Dublin this week.

When interviewed, John simply said “There are two things I really love; reading newspapers and talking to people. I consider myself a lucky fella I’ve been doing what I love since 1971!”

Commenters were quick to say how beloved yer man is and how quirky his little shop is. Suffice to say Dun Laoghaire wouldn't be the same without newspaper strewn everywhere and a little shop that sells everything you need in an area the size of a Landrover, as one local said on Yelp.

"Ah love it! John's a proper local shop keeper, definitely an asset to the community- doin a great job", said Sophie on Facebook.

Trevor summed it up "LEGEND and PURE GENT" while Liz expanded, "Sunday papers all week. And a bit of banter. Love this man".

Gotta love a honest, hard worker who does his bit for the community. On ya, John.
