Ed Sheeran Has Reportedly Got Hitched In Secret Ceremony

Ed Sheeran has reportedly married his school sweetheart Cherry Seaborn in a secret ceremony.

According to The Sun, the couple Ed and Cherry hosted their wedding at his country estate in Suffolk just before Christmas. The publication reported that the guest list was just 40 close friends and family and did not include his celebrity friends. For those of us who are familiar with Ed's unlikely celebrity friendships, he would have had a guest list to match Jennifer Aniston's 50th birthday celebrations.

Ed Sheeran's random list of celebrity friends includes Taylor Swift, Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Elton John, Harry Styles, Paul McCartney and Kermit The Frog, to name but a few. He's such a likeable guy so it's not surprising he has so many close celebrity friendships. It could explain why he opted for a top-secret intimate ceremony, the guest list was getting out of hand.

According to the publication's source:

Ed got married a few days before Christmas. It was very quiet – just Ed’s oldest school pals, limited family and the priest.

There were only 40 people – so no Taylor Swift, record company executives or any royals or pop star pals. He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them – just a tiny winter wedding.

Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it. Cherry just wanted to get it out of the way without any problems or intrusions.

The couple got engaged in January of last year, announcing it to the world in the world with this very sweet Instagram post.

The couple met in school but only got together in 2015 and spent most of 2016 travelling the world together during his year off from music. Cherry is a hockey star and helped England U21's win the bronze medal at the 2012 European Championships.

We may still get our big celebrity event to mark this happy occasion. The Sun newspapers source added the Ed and Cherry are planning a "festival-style party for a wider list to happen at the end of the summer".

How does one get an invite or gatecrash such an event?
