An Irishman's Explanation Of The Decline Of The Simpsons Has Over 1 Million Views

We all have our own opinion as to when 'The Simpsons' began to decline.  Irish Youtuber SuperEyepatch Wolf has, but he has also dedicated a brilliant and thorough video essay on the animated sitcom's drop in quality.

He cites the episode 'The Principal And The Pauper' episode two of season nine, as one of the first instances when the show began to slip, arguing that making Principal Skinner an imposter devalued the character and the show, which had always relied on building real characters & getting audiences to empathise with these characters.

He also mentions how the jokes have become stale & the plots have had to become 'wackier' in order to give the tired characters something new to do.
