Ja Rule Plans To Stage Another Festival, Fyre Fest 2.0

You will often hear the old saying, "If at first, you don't succeed, Try, try, try again". In the case of the epic fail that was the Fyre Festival, no one should try a resurrect that dead pony.

Speaking to TMZ, Ja Rule has said he plans to do just that. For a fresh recap on Ja Rules part in the Fyre Festival Fail. The American rapper was business partners with the founder of the festival Billy McFarland. Without giving too much away for anyone that still might not have seen the documentary. It ends with Billy McFarland, going to prison, and landing himself on the wrong end of a $2.8 million lawsuit. The festival was created with the intention of promoting the company's Fyre app for booking music talent. Fyre Festival was advertised as a "luxury" music festival, with a large scale marketing campaign and a Victoria Secret catwalk to promote the event. The reality was a poorly organised nightmare for attendees. Ja Rule has promised that his festival  Fyre Festival 2.0 will actually turn out to be as "iconic" as advertised.

Following the backlash of the Fyre Festival after the release of the documentary, Ja Rule tweeted his innocence for the part he played in the Fyre Festival.

Ja Rule has also stated when speaking to TMZ that he had not watched the documentary but has said in previous interviews that he is not ashamed of the Fyre Festival.

I’m not ashamed of Fyre at all. Because man, the idea, it was brilliant. It was fucking beyond brilliant … It was amazing, but it wasn’t what I dreamed it of being, and what I envisioned of it being, and what I wanted it to be. It wasn’t done properly. ‘People didn’t really know I had anything to do with the festival until it went wrong. And then it was like, “Ja Rule’s festival!

Earlier this week Jorma Taccone of The Lonely Island announced that he and the other members of the comedy musical group, Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer, alongside Seth Rogen, are currently creating a musical loosely based on the events of Fyre Festival.

It definitely isn't the last we've heard of Fyre Festival. As for Fyre Festival 2.0 organised by Ja Rule, I'm not sure that one will have the public support behind it.
