Last Night The Cast Of Derry Girls Were More Relatable Than Ever

Last Night The Cast Of Derry Girls Were More Relatable Than Ever cture>

Last night the Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTAs) kicked off and as expected Derry Girls and The Young Offenders cleaned up. Derry Girls took home Best Comedy and creator Lisa McGee won for best writer.

The most iconic moment of the night was not Derry Girls winning the award for Best Comedy - which would've been on par to Beyoncé's Lemonade not winning the Grammy for album of the year in 2018 (I'm still bitter) - but the cast holding up a picture of an absent Nicola Caughlan throughout the ENTIRE night.

It began earlier in the night when the gals of the show revealed they'd be bringing Nicola, who plays ever-anxious Claire, with them through the form of arts and crafts because nobody is truly an individual on their own.

Nicola even had her red carpet moment with the gang, held up by cast member Louisa Harland:

Caughlan is completing a run in Miss Jean Brodie and couldn't make the award ceremony.

The best moment from all this had to be Nicola's adorable reaction to the cardboard cut out. She is called it on Twitter the "best thing that's ever happened to me" and that she'd never forget this.

We can't help but wonder how cardboard Nicola is today?
