A Lorde Impersonator Fooled Everyone Into Thinking It Was Really Her

In the famous words of Randy Marsh: "I am Lorde, ya ya ya". It was a case of life imitating art overnight when a Lorde impersonator fooled fans at an Auckland event into thinking the real Lorde was performing for them.

Sadness befell me when I found out it wasn't Randy but nevertheless, this story is gas.

According to Billboard, a group of 100 Lorde fans got duped during a “No Lights No Lycra Dance Party” event at a library in Auckland, New Zealand.

There was chatter that the "Royals" singer would make a guest appearance, and when she arrived in the pitch black, she did not disappoint, said a fan.

“You know you are in Auckland City when Lorde casually rocks out as the surprise guest at your local No Lights No Lycra hosted at the community library!", someone posted.

A “super ultra special guest” had been teased in the lead-up to the event, and attendees hoped she'd perform her new single "Green Light".

Welp, turns out it was all a stunt and the Lorde impersonator was actually singer Hannah, as revealed by the organiser:

Lorde herself caught wind of this hilarious fake news and said:

Her mum also confirmed that Queen Lorde did not do a gig at a library:

And here's proof of the Creme Egg eating too:

Oh and a little Randy just for good measure:
