When the chips down and your ATM card keeps spitting back your card with the only too familiar "insufficient funds", just think there are cats out there with more money than me. Meet Choupette Lagerfeld the world's richest cat. Poor Choupette is in mourning as you can see from her positively adorable and incredibly strange funeral attire.
Earlier this week, Choupette's owner Karl Lagerfeld died at the age of 85 after a short illness of pancreatic cancer. Lagerfeld was the Creative Director of the high-fashion brand Chanel for more than 30 years. Following his death, it is reported that his beloved cat Choupette is set to inherit his £150 million fortune. Yes, you read it right, there are people starving in the world and yet there is a multi-millionaire cat. This fashionable feline has quite the social media following with 120,000 followers on Instagram and its very blog Choupette's Diary.
In the latest blog post entitled 'Rest in Peace Daddy Karl Lagerfeld' the cat confirms his owners' death:
It is with great sadness that I confirm my Daddy Karl Lagerfeld has passed away on February 19, 2019. He was a true icon who touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with, especially moi. He will forever live in my now broken heart and the hearts of all his supporters around the world.
So how will Choupette spend his millions, a nice diamond encrusted collar or catnip imported from Colombia, only the best that money can buy.
The world has gone mad.
