Behold: the new Nintendo console has been revealed and it's everything. You don't have to be a gaming nerd to appreciate when a whole new gaming system gets released.... mainly because 1. everyone you know will be talking about it and it's nice to know the deets, 2. your bf will probably be buying one very soon and 3. you may actually want one once you see it.
The launch
Nintendo revealed the Switch console last night in Japan and Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima said: “Nintendo Switch is a brand-new kind of home gaming system that offers a wide variety of play modes.
“We will introduce the world to new experiences made possible by the unique characteristics of the Nintendo Switch hardware and the Joy-Con.”
The modular controller can be split into two and each can be used by one player to create a multiplayer set-up on a single screen.
You can also put the Nintendo Switch screen into home mode where you slide the screen into a console and the Joy-Con controller is used to navigate.

The first games that come with the console are the next instalment in the Legend Of Zelda series, Breath Of The Wild, Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
The system will be priced at £279.99 in the UK when it is released on March 3, but no word yet on the € price.
