I Tried Dealz Makeup For A Week And Here's What Happened

A few weeks ago, I had a great idea to use the Dealz makeup range... on my face. It went about as well as expected which wasn't amazing, though there were some pleasant surprises as well as some tragedies. Everything in the range is €1.50 including foundation, powder and mascara. Here's my Dealz Make Up Gallery review...

Initially I had doubts about this makeup as I started to apply it for the first time:

It made my cheeks look like I'd applied it on a bicycle

But still, I pressed on. Even when it made my skin break out:

So I'll break down each item I bought and tell you my rating for each:

Gorgeous Flawless foundation

Consistency: Like a thin paste. Kinda like sunscreen and about as thin as it too. Need 10 layers to cover up anything.

Staying power: Zilch, it was all gone by the end of the day!

Hide & Chic concealer

Consistency: Pasty and hard. Didn't go on smoothly and it blends very badly.

Staying power: OK but nothing to write home about

Good To Glow bronzer

Consistency: Feathery, not too bad. It was highly pigmented.

Staying power: Decent - it was noticeable all day

Bin or keep? Keep as a backup

Rating: 3/5

 

Feeling Blush blusher

Consistency: Lightweight, bit too powdery and pink for me.

Staying power: Good! Stayed most of the day despite wishing the opposite.

Bin or keep? Keep as a backup

Rating: 2/5 mainly due to colour.

 

Smoothly Does It pressed powder

Consistency: Wayyy too powdery. Smelt like my nan's cupboard. It felt like a translucent powder really.

Staying power: Not great, especially on my nose. Not having an applicator didn't help either.

Bin or keep? Keep but only if I'm desperate.

Rating: 2/5

 

Good To Glow highlighting powder

Consistency: Hard as a rock. Could barely get any off and the colour was all wrong!

Staying power: Not great.

Bin or keep? Bin... the purple hue let it down.

Rating: 1/5

 

Neverending Story waterproof mascara

Consistency: Like glass. It ripped off half my eyelashes. It was dry as a nun's...

Staying power: I doubt I got any on the lashes I had left

Bin or keep? Bin and burn

Rating: 0/5 NEVER BUY THIS

 

Glide Away eyeshadow stick

Consistency: Glides on like it says but very sticky.

Staying power: OK but it makes you feel 5 yrs old ... who even uses eyeshadow sticks?

Bin or keep? Bin but only because I know I have no use for this

All About The Pout lipstick in Black Cherry

Consistency: Creamy and very easy to apply. Doesn't bleed!

Staying power: Pretty good. Doesn't pass the food test but it's great if you plan on not talking.

Bin or keep? Keep 'cause it's great value

Rating: 4/5

 

Pout Matters matt lip colour in Purple Pop

Consistency: Lovely and smooooth. Dries matte-ish. Can I just mention that it's matte, not matt, Dealz?

Staying power: OK but doesn't pass the food test. Wear on silent dates or to the movies.

Bin or keep? Keep! This colour is for bad bitches.

Rating: 4/5

 

Pout Matters matt lip colour in Latte

Consistency: Like above. Goes on like a dream, needs another 'e'.

Staying power: Fine but ain't no Kylie lipkit.

Bin or keep? Keep 'cause this colour is awesome.

Glitter Gold Chick Flick eyeliner

Consistency: Grainy and gluey

Staying power: Not terrible?

Bin or keep? Bin because where the eff will I wear this? I'm in my late 20s and haven't stayed out past 4am since I was 20.

Pro Liquid eyeliner in Black

Consistency: Smooth and lovely. I just wanna say the brush on this is delicious.

Staying power: Excellent. Stayed on all day and all night!

Bin or keep? Keep! I use this all the time now.

Rating: 5/5 - best item in the range <3

 

Final thoughts:

Dealz's pun game = strong. Seriously though, some products in this range were great, especially the lip products and the eyeliner. But go for better quality foundation because you will break out like me if you take the risk! Happy shopping girls.
