Quick 'n' Easy Recipe Of The Week: Healthy Nachos

 

Need something to snack on to get you through the exams? Already made yourself sick by eating your weight in "fun-size" bags of Doritos? Looking for someone to save you?

Well today is your lucky day!

You've finally found the answer - wholemeal nachos!

Get rid of those corn chips STAT and give these babies a go instead! They have a lot more fibre so will fill you up faster and for longer AND are full of nutrients to help keep you focused for exam time. God knows you need all the time you can get to cram everything that's been covered the last year into that already bushtin' head of yours!

These nachos give you that great crunch that you want from a nacho and are super quick and easy to put together.

Dip them into a bit of guacamole salsa if you can get your hands on some or simply snack on them as they are. Just make sure you give them a go!

Wholesome Wholemeal Nachos – Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 3 – 4 wholemeal pita breads
  • 1 – 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • salt and pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Slice the pita breads into triangles. If you want to season your nachos, toss them in the oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the triangles out on to a baking tray and bake in the oven for 10 – 15 minutes until slightly browned.
