Beck Back To Brilliant Best

We knew he wouldn't let us down, and here's the reasons why.....

1. It's the longest we've ever had to wait for an album from the musical genius that is Beck, and it's been well worth the 6 year wait for Morning Phase

2. Beck's first single 'Blue Moon', is lyrically juicy and has the line 'See the turncoat on his knees, a vagabond that no one sees', we're in awe

3. One of the great things about a Beck album is it's never the same as his previous one, on Morning Phase we're hearing Fleetwood Mac, Simon & Garfunkel and his very own stamp as well.

4. Over the last 20 years Beck has been one of the most original and interesting characters on the music scene, add to that his amazing talent and you've got a bit of a modern day David Bowie on your hands

5. Beck first came to our attention in 1994 with his hit single 'Loser', but it was the summer of 1996 and the release of Odelay that established him as a serious artist, here's the video for 'Devil's Haircut' with Beck killing a cowboy hat like a boss

6. Adding to Beck's intrigue is the fact that his mother Bibbe Hansen, also a musician, and one of Andy Warhol's closest friends, delivered at birth Beck's future wife, actress Marissa Ribisi, and twin brother actor Giovanni Ribisi, too weird.

7. Here's a cool video from the official Beck Youtube channel showing the vinyl of Morning Phase being made

8. So what next for the Beck fella? A world tour is due to be announced shortly, for anyone going to Bestival in the U.K. he'll be performing there, and he's informed Rolling Stone magazine that he's half-way through another album due for release next year, no arseing about so

Finally our rating of Morning Phase is a whopping 4.5 / 5, just like Odelay and Sea Change, it's sure to end up a classic and if it's been a while since you bought a physical album, this is the one to get
