Nights Out In Your Early 20s Vs Nights Out In Your Late 20s

There are some HUGE differences...

1) Who's going out?

Early 20s: Everyone.

Late 20s: Between people settling down and having kids or just chilling with their other halves, the group has slowly dwindled. You might see people on special occasions like birthdays, engagements or christenings.

2) Getting ready

Early 20s: A LOT of thought and planning goes into what you look like and you spend half the day on whats app, asking everyone what they're wearing. Which all depends on whether you're going out out, or just out.

Late 20s: You roll out of bed 20 minutes before you leave and rummage through your wardrobe for a nice, long sleeved top so you don't have to bother with tan. Throw on comfy jeans and flats and you're good to go.

3) Pre-drinks

Early 20s: It's the best part of the night! Should I get a few bottles of beer or just a naggin? I'll get both just in case. And a shoulder just in case.

Late 20s: You'll be having a few glasses of wine with your meal and that will do, you don't want to be hungover in the morning, the whole day will be gone.

4) I.D

Early 20s: The taxi's outside and you're doing a quick last-minute check to make sure you have all your essentials. Phone, money, keys.... shit where's my passport?? There's no way I'm getting in without that. The night'll be ruined!

Late 20s: Half the time, you don't even bother bringing ID out with you. And when you do, you're secretly raging when the bouncers don't ask to check it.

5) Choosing where to go

Early 20s: (Sober you) 'I'm not setting foot back in Coppers, let's try somewhere new.' (Drunk you) 'F**k it, we go to Coppers?' You'd quite happily pay a tenner in somewhere for a half an hour of dancing.

Late 20s: A nice bar where you can have the chats and leave at a reasonable hour sounds perfect. You wouldn't dream of going somewhere that had no seats.

6) Meeting people

Early 20s: Where's the men? WHERE ARE THEY?

Late 20s: You and your friend go to a quiet spot in the corner so you can have the chats and see her ring properly.

7) Going home

Early 20s: You refuse to call it a night and wake everyone you know at 3am, ringing around in search of a good session.

Late 20s: The first sign of sleepiness and you do a midnight flit home to your bed, no questions asked.

8) The hangover

Early 20s: A breakfast roll, a few paracetamol and you're ready for round two.

Late 20s: The physical and emotional devastation lasts for days and and you constantly question who you are and what you're doing with your life.
