5 Reasons Why It's Best To Go To A Sesh On New Year's Eve

With the New Year fast approaching (I can almost smell the inspirational quotes that will be flooding my news feed later), we're going to take a look at why a session is the only sane choice you can really make for tonight.

You've no doubt got air-tight plans but if you are one of the smart few who have chosen to bid farewell to 2017 at a house party, give yourselves a pat on the back. You've done good.

Here are 5 reasons why:

1. There's no last orders

No lights flashing or barman calling 'drink up folks.' Nope, provided you've brought enough booze, you're good to go for the night. Just don't go too hard and puke on your mate's mam's bed or confess your undying love to half of your phonebook.

2. You'll save money

From taxis and entrance fee to drink and 2am food, you might as well piss your money away.

Price is always bumped up on New Years Eve as well, raising the expectation to have a deadly night. Which lets face it, we often don't.

Be sensible and spend all your money on booze and Doritos for the house instead.

3. You'll have somewhere to sit

Hey, tiredness is nothing to be ashamed of, it's been a long Christmas! And unless the session is packed to the brim, you'll manage to at least rest your bum on the arm of a chair.

Which is a lot better then lurking awkwardly beside some plant while you try not to spill your drink against the throes of people in some busy bar.

4. The music

Apart from putting the odd request to the DJ in a nightclub, you're pretty much stuck with whatever he plays. At a party, YOU CAN BE THE DJ. Stick on all the old school tunes you like, ain't no one going to stop you (unless you have shit taste in music and everyone asks you to turn it off).

5. You'll meet more people

A lot of the time when we head out, we tend to stick to our group. But at a session, you're more likely to meet friends of friends. And who knows, play your cards right and you might even get a new years kiss.
