Here's How To Make Meal Prep Food That Doesn't Taste Like Shite

So it's March, and you're still the pathetic fat piece of shite you were in January. The whole "healthy eating" thing never happened and you've actually gained weight.

If you've decided that enough is enough and you actually want to get your act together, the first step is to start meal-prepping. Meal prepping is a way to control what you're putting into that belly of yours and making sure you'll actually stick to your goals. It takes a bit of preparation, (well duh) but once you put aside an hour or two, twice a week you'll be flying.

Here's a few tips for meal prep that will make sure your food doesn't taste like shite.

1. Spice up your life

Use spice to add flavour. Cumin goes amazing on sweet potatoes, chilli and lemon goes great on fish and turmeric adds an amazing flavour to vegetables.

2. Keep healthy snacks on you at all times

If you find yourself heading to the canteen for a cheeky Dairy Milk — stop. Keep a few healthy snack bars on you handy and you won't feel the need to binge.

3. Choose good quality ingredients

The fact you're leaving your meal prep in the fridge, you want to make sure the ingredients are super fresh. By spending a little bit more on better quality ingredients you'll end up saving loads of money in the long run.

4. Marinade like your life depends on it

Marinading can completely change the taste of food. Marinating your meat will make such a difference and will keep your healthy eating in check.

5. Swap normal salt for pink salt

This will make no difference to taste, but make a huge difference to stomach. Pink Himalayan sea salt has less sodium, increases hydration, regulate water content both inside and outside of cells, balance pH and balances hormones to name a few.

6. Only prep for 3 days in advance

Let's be honest here, who the hell wants to eat the chicken they cooked 5 days prior — no one. So meal prepping for around 3 days in advance is the way to make it still taste delish.

7. Mix it up

Mix up your vegetables and meat on the regular do you don't get bored of your food. It'll make such a difference and will keep healthy eating fun.
