This Famous Singer Has Come Out As Gay At The Ripe Age Of 73

We're so bloody happy for him. Barry Manilow has come out as gay. The classic crooner behind hits such as 'Mandy' and 'Copacabana' finally revealed his sexual orientation after years of speculation.

He told the public in the most recent edition of 'People' magazine, that he's been with his partner and manager Gary Kief, for 39 years. They met all the way back in 1978, and Manilow revealed the reason for keeping his sexuality under wraps was to not upset his fans.

He commented that the response to his coming out has been overwhelmingly positive. He told People, 'I thought I would be disappointing them [fans] if they knew I was gay. So I never did anything.' Him and Kief married in secret in 2014, but kept it hidden from the public.

He said he was so happy to find people's reactions as positive, 'When (people) found out that Garry and I were together, they were so happy.  The reaction was so beautiful - strangers commenting, 'Great for you!'  I'm just so grateful for it.'
