Former Coronation Street Star Pleads Guilty To Sexual Assaults

According to the BBC, former Coronation Street actor Bruno Langley, who played Todd Grimshaw on the soap since 2001, has admitted groping two women in a music venue. The assault was reported by the women at the Band on the Wall on Swan Street in Manchester on 1 October.

The actor pleaded guilty to two sexual assaults at the Manchester Magistrates' Couty and may face sentencing. The 34-year-old actor, who played Todd Grimshaw for 16 years, left the ITV soap after an internal inquiry in October.

The prosecutor Karen Saffman claimed that Langley was "clearly intoxicated" as he grabbed the crotch of one woman, who was out with her husband, and the buttocks and breasts of another woman. The claimant stated that Langley "rough grabbed" her crotch.

Ms Saffman said the woman "was thinking about hitting him" but instead confronted him, asking: "Did you do that on purpose?". On the night in question a man, who was with Langley, apologised to the women for his behaviour.

Both victims were in the toilets when they met each other and discussed how Langley had attacked them. Saffman claimed that two other women were also touched by Langley but he did not face charges over these assaults.

The District Judge Mark Hadfield will consider a probation report before deciding if Langley would be sentenced at the court or be sent to Manchester Crown Court, where he could face a longer penalty.
