Dara O'Briain is so beloved, we honestly wouldn't know what we'd do if he died suddenly, though we did get a bit of a scare the other day when a fake news website published an article with the headline "BREAKING: Irish Stand-Up Comedian And Tv Host O Briain Dies In A Tragic Car Crash". Thankfully, Dara O'Briain's death is a complete lie and he is safe and well.
Dara was told about the news via Twitter after a fan spotted the obviously fake news story:
@daraobriain How'd ya manage this on the other side of the world? https://t.co/UcaJ6ijtWt #fakenews #bull

He's in Australia right now doing a stand-up tour so that was the first red flag. He was relieved to know he is alive:
Apparently I'm dead. Huge if true. Another victim of those ravines in the middle of Dublin City. We must fill them in before others die too! https://t.co/5O2dWVealF

One of the dead giveaways in the Mega News 360 article was the photo. The article says Dara "passed away [in the] early hours of this morning after the vehicle he was travelling with fell into a ravine along the Patrick Street in Dublin city centre after colliding with a government vehicle [sic]", but the photo they chose was clearly a crashed car in a countryside ditch.
According to the shite reporter, "O'Briain, along with driver, Mark Bean, were on their way home from a showbiz in Dublin". We all know 'a showbiz' is serious stuff.
Ah sure look, at least he lived to tell the tale.
