This Humans Of Dublin Post Shares The Story Behind Pieta House's Darkness Into Light

You might have seen some posts on your Facebook about Darkness Into Light, or you might be going. But whatever way you heard about it, you might not know the faces behind this wonderful event, held by Pieta House.

The other day, Humans of Dublin posted this heartwarming story of a couple who helped create the worldwide event for suicide awareness:

Darkness Into Light started with 400 people walking the 5km course in Dublin’s Phoenix Park in 2009. This year, there are around 150 DIL venues across Ireland and worldwide including Canada, Australia and China. Last year 130,000 people helped to promote suicide prevention which is really incredible when you think about it. Years ago you'd have to sit in silence, as Cindy O’Connor, Chief Clinical Officer involved with Pieta House, knows all too well:

It's not too late to walk on Saturday 6th May and help Pieta House to promote suicide prevention and tackle the stigma that leads people to their doors.
