A Reddit User Asked Why "The Craic Is 90" And The Comments Are Everything

Sometimes you wake up and ponder one of life's big questions. A lot of times a quick Google search will help clear the fog on your burdened mind and you can sit back and relax. Sadly, today was not one of those days. One Reddit user, magicmance, was like so many of us, pondering life and all its complexities when a thought struck them - "Why is the craic only 90. Where did it come from? Why can't it be more or less?".  There began the biggest question mankind ever faced.

Well, lads, I'm here to inform you of the origin of "the craic is 90". In the 60s the term was widely used because of the song, The Craic Was 90 on the Isle of Man, which was recorded by Irish artists like Paddy Reilly and Christy Moore. We like the idea it's to do with Italia '90 or that the 90's was just a great time to be alive. Why it can only be 90 is like asking did the chicken or the egg come first!
