Get The Cans! Ireland Set For Last Hit Of Summer Over Next Few Days

Yesterday was the Autumn equinox. For those of you who have more important things going on in your lives than to worry about what in the name of hot-holy-hell an equinox is, I both envy you and am here to enlighten you. It's basically the midpoint between the longest day of the year and the shortest day of the year, and as if that couldn't get any more exciting, it is also the point used to mark the official end of summer, and the beginning of what I can only describe as 'autumn'.

Though it appears somebody forgot to mention this to the dang weather as, according to Met Eireann, that scamp is set to throw two-fingers up to the dictates of the calendar, and is looking to plough ruthlessly on with some hot and heavy summery goodness over the next couple of days.

That's right, Ireland is set to be in the throes of what I will go ahead and call an 'Indian summer', which, without bothering to Google where exactly that phrase originates - I simply haven't the time - I can't help shake the feeling is vaguely offensive on some level. Basically, we're in for a good time over the next few days, temperature-wise.

I'm not here to tread on the toes of the weatherman; stealing bread off their table is one of the few things I swore I'd never do when getting into this biz, but the long and the short of it is that, for the majority of the country it will be rather warm. I'm talking high-teens. I don't want to make you promises I can't keep, but we may even breach the 20C mark.

The downside is that this will apparently also bring with it lots of rain for the majority of the country, however Sunday and Monday will both feature sunny spells for you to actually get out there and feel those fine temps for yourself. For a full run-down of the weather, Met Eireann got your back. Or if you're more of a 'live in the moment' type of person, simply look out the window and see for yourself.
