However more and more of our personal details are wrapped up in myriad online accounts, deleting all of which would be a truly Sisyphean task for most of us.
That's where deseat.me comes in.
Deseat.me uses your Gmail address to track down all the online accounts associated with it and collates them into a single easy-to-read list. From this list you can choose to delete, keep, or unsubscribe from your various online accounts. Currently deseat.me is still in development and only works for Gmail accounts; but it can collate larger sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
If you decide to erase your online footprint you will be linked straight to the 'delete my account' page of the respective site you clicked on. The website itself is 100% confidential, using Google's security protocol to keep your login information as secure as possible.
