Well, there you have it. According to a survey carried out by an online dating website, Irish women have the sexiest accent compared to our Welsh, English and Scottish counterparts. A posh English accent came second in the poll, followed by the Geordie accent. (no doubt thanks to Cheryl Cole)
Out of the study of 750 people Irish lads didn't do too bad either, having the third sexiest accent. The West Country accent in England was nominated as the worst accent amongst males and females.
Now, bear in mind lads, the survey was actually done on dating website illicitencounters.com, which to no surprise, is actually a married dating website. So going by the evidence, the people who use the site aren't exactly the most honest people out there.
