Kym Owens' tragic story shook the country back in November when the Maynooth student was the victim of a suspected attack. Kym, 18 from Monaghan, suffered horrific injuries from the fall. But today we have heard some great news: Kym was discharged from hospital earlier this month and is recovering at home after three months in an induced coma, reports the Irish Mirror. But a major question still remains: with Kim Owens awake, will Gardai be able to solve this mystery?
The last update we had was that the Gardai were investigating whether Kym could've fallen by herself, ruling out foul play. But many believe this line of inquiry wasn't possible given Kym suffered two broken eye sockets, a fractured jaw, a broken nose and lost several teeth.
Gardai still do not know how exactly what happened to Kym and even though over 300 people have been interviewed, Gardai still have not made any arrests, the Irish Independent reports.
Hopefully Kym will be able to give them the answers they need, because no one deserves to be attacked on their way home from college.
