Bad news for any students looking to head to the Leopardstown Student Race day as today's meeting has been called off due to heavy rain.
Inspections this morning deemed that the track was too water-logged for the day to go ahead due to heavier than expected rainfalls over night, as well as the fact that there is more rain forecast throughout the day.

The event is one of the highlights of the year for students looking to dress in inordinately fancy clothes and get positively merry. One can only assume that out there somewhere there is a very eager student, bedecked in his father's suit, quivering under an umbrella with a naggin tucked under one arm who has just read this and, as his poor heart breaks, the rain trickling down his face starts to mix with the tears that have begun to fall.
