Some Disgusting Researcher Says Science Proves You Should Microwave Your Tea

Microwaving food is a common feature in every day. There is no doubt the microwave has saved many of our hungry bellies. Sometimes you can make the best recipe by simply popping some bits in a mug and pressing the start button. Well this researcher, Dr. Quan Vuong, has suggested something that would make Mammy's blood boil - microwaving your tea. Microwaveable tea could now be a thing because of his studies.

Dr Vuong's study revealed that by extracting, isolating and purifying the important components of green tea and black tea, that the method activated 80 per cent of the caffeine, theanine and polyphenol compounds, and actually made it taste better. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Put hot water in the cup with your teabag.
  2. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds on half power.
  3. Let it sit for a minute.

Polyphenols are a form of antioxidants which help to lower cardiovascular disease, diabetes and lower cholesterol. Theanine is an amino acid which helps people to relax and can be found some other plant foods and mushrooms as well as tea. So by microwaving your tea your could be improving your health?
