Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys is the latest figure in the entertainment business to be accused of serious sexual assault.
One of the stars of pop group Dream, Melissa Schuman, has accused Mr. Carter of two instance of rape when she was aged 18 and 22.
She made the allegations in a blog post on November 18, saying that her and Mr. Carter had both been cast in the same television show and that he invited her to his apartment during one of their days off. She says that he sexually assaulted her in the bathroom and that she was too afraid to come forward due to her manager informing her that Carter had one of the most powerful lawyers in the country.
