The Dáil is the last place you would probably think a singing tie would outshine a politician.
However, that was the case in the Dáíl this evening, when Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh was rudely interrupted by his own tie. The TD took the stand and was accompanied by a polyphonic version of 'Jingle Bells'.
The entire Dáil erupted into laughter as the TD tried to ignore the tie, which Ó Snodaigh seemed unable to turn off. In fairness, he tried to talk over the tie and ignore the fact it was going off but who's he kidding really?
