This is the sports comedy we've been waiting years for.
Legendary Pictures announced yesterday that Will Ferrell will star in an upcoming esports comedy. The film will see Ferrell star as a professional member of an esports team, which involves using video games as a form of competition that is facilitated by electronic systems.
Fans are ecstatic about the news as Ferrell has starred as unlikely sports stars in many other films including Semi-Pro, Blades of Glory, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and Blades of Glory.
The film is being written by Spongebob Squarepants 3 writers Michael Kvamme and Jordan Dunn, which is due out in 2019.

The film has tonnes of potential as two of the worlds top esports teams Evil Geniuses and Fnatic, are in negotiations to make cameo appearances. Evil Geniuses won The International 2015, while Fnatic feature some of the best Esports players in the world right now.
If hear-say is anything to go by, it sounds like it's going to be hilarious.
