Do I Really Have To Pay For It All? 21 Questions Guys Wish They Could Ask On A First Date

It's an unwritten rule of dating to be cordial on a first date and see where things go from there. You want to make a good first impression, so even if things don't go anywhere,  you'll leave on good terms. There are some things that guys might want to ask, but they can't because it would come off as being rude. Here are the questions guys wish they could ask on a first date.

21) Do I really have to pay for everything?

It can be quite an expense for guys to go on a date, so if they had their way they would ask if the girl could split the bill. We don't mind paying on a first date, but if we could, we would ask if they could pay for one or two of their drinks, so we won't be out of pocket by the end of the night.

20) What was your name again?

It can happen to the best of us, and no matter how hard you try and rack your brain and you just can't remember. You won't ask them, because it is quite embarrassing for the both of you. There are a number of ways of getting around this, but one of the most simple and straight forward methods is to ask them "What was your name again" they might be annoyed, but they will say their name and they you say "No, I meant your surname", problem solved.

19) Are you going to finish that?

You don't want to sound rude, but sometimes a girl will order food and not finish it and it's lying there going to waste. You will just make do with what you have, but if you could, you would eat their leftovers, even though half of the meal is still there.

18) Do you actually find that funny or are you just humoring me?

They say it's a good sign when a girl laughs at your jokes, even the bad ones. Sometimes though, girls will just be humouring you so they don't come off as a bitch . It would be good to know if she genuinely finds what I'm saying funny or is just trying to make things less awkward.

17)Does this shirt do anything for you?

It can be hard to tell what a girl is into, so we just stick on a nice shirt, some cologne and hope they like it. If we could, we would actually ask if they think it's a good shirt or not. The only clue we can get if she says that she actually like it, which is always a good sign.

16) Is the cologne too much?

Guys will usually have that trusty cologne that they always resort to when their going out. Girls don't usually comment on a guys smell whether it's good or bad, so it's hard to know. Sometimes we might put on a bit too much and overcompensate, so if we could we would ask if them if we put on a bit too much.

15) What do you think of my hair?

This might sound like a very vain question to ask, but it's really more about whether or not she actually likes your hair. Guys spend the most time on their hair than anything else, so it would be actually good to know what they thought of it. If we asked this question, she would automatically think we're incredibly self -centred and vain...

14) Do you have to order dessert?

It can be awkward if you're ready to leave after the main course and she is intent on ordering dessert. It's nice to get a heads up so we know that we will have to fork out the extra cash on a cheesecakebefore you only eat half of it an say "I'm so stuffed".

13) Do you really have to keep tasting my food?

I get that you want to have a little bit of everything, but I ordered the steak for a reason, because that's what I wanted and presumably you ordered the caeser salad for the same reason. I have no problem with you having a bit, but if you're taking a selection of everything on my plate, I ain't cool with that.

12) Why do you keep going to the toilet?

On second thought, maybe it's better if we don't know and just put it down to a women thing. It's just that girls seem to go to the toilet a lot and we are just left there waiting. It's can be annoying when you're in the middle of a conversation and they head off to the toilet, they could at least wait until the conversation dies down before leaving.

11) Are you even listening to what I'm saying

Girls have a tendency to zone out when guys talk about the finer details of their lives, especially their job. You did ask us to tell you what we do so maybe it would be good if you listened. It would just be nice to know if what I'm saying isn't falling on deaf ears...

10) Can we please stop talking about your last relationship?

It's good to know when the last time you were in the relationship was and how long you have been single for, but we don't need every intimate detail about it. You clearly still have some feelings for him if you're still talking about him this much, maybe you're not ready to start dating again?

9) Could you please stop looking at your phone every two seconds?

This kind of stuff is infuriating, when you're trying to talk to a girl and they keep checking their phone. There should be a place in restaurants where you can put your phones, so there won't be any Instragam pictures of your food and so people can actually talk for once.

8) Do you have any clue where your life is going, or is that just me?

You don't want to tell them that you have no clue what you're doing with your life, but it would be good to know if she was the same. You only went to college to keep your parents happy and have no real exit strategy either. There is no nice way of asking this so it's better just to keep this one out of the conversation.

7) Are you in any way interested in sports?

Guys would have so much more to talk about on a date if she liked sports. The rest of what we talk about is just general small talk and if we could, we would talk about sports for as long as we could. It's literally all we talk about with the lads so it would be great if we could talk about it with a girl.

6) Are you one of those girls that take ages to text back?

When we text a girl it drives us mad when she takes hours to text back "Hi", you might as well have not texted back if you're going to come out with that crap. We're not going to buy the excuse that you forgot because we know girls are glued to their phones.

5) Do you have any annoying habits I should know of?

There are some things that can get on your nerves the longer you're with someone, so it could be a good idea to see if they have any that you dislike so you can end it there and then. This would seem really forward if we asked it, so I guess we will just have to find it out later if this goes anywhere.

4) How many guys have you hooked up with?

If it's a large number then we would have serious doubts about being able to trust you. Some indication would be good to get an idea, but we have to wait till down the road where you find that she as sleeping with two other guys behind your back, one of which is one of your friends.

3) Are you seeing anyone else?

Even though it's only a first date, it would be good to know if they're seeing someone else as well. It would make things a bit clearer on where you stand rather than if after a couple dates she says that she is seeing someone else and you had no idea about it.

2) Are you looking for something serious?

Sometimes they generally aren't looking for anything serious , but it would be nice if you actually knew that before you see each other more. It would save that awkward conversation where she thinks you're just good friends and you were under the impression that it was something more.

1) It's freezing, do you mind if I keep my jacket on?

We all know the famous gesture where a guy gives his jacket to the girl to keep her warm. I believe the term is called chivalry, but we get cold too, and it's so cold that you could probably get pneumonia. You chose to wear a short dress not me, so it's not my fault that you feel cold...
