It's only a day removed but we wanted to share with you our Electric Picnic experiences. From the start line of the Tour De Picnic , to the closing of the Red Bull Academy stage, deep in the woods early on Monday morning, EP2013 was an eclectic mix of techno, acoustic, rock, disco, poetry and rave which had the crowd, both young and old in rapturous spirits for 3 days straight.
Here we decided to put a list of our favourite, and the most heard songs of the weekend at EP 2013.
Disclosure ft AlunaGeorge - White Noise
Without doubt the song most heard over the weekend, it seemed every DJ in the place had the record in their bags. The young English brothers headlined the main stage on Saturday night (after Bjork made everyone within earshot half deaf) and sent the crowd wild during their live performance.
Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr - Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat
A dark horse for song of the festival, Fatboy Slim's mantra was monotonously repeated by festival goers from when they first heard it on Friday night until the Red Bull rave finally shut it's doors on Monday morning. Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat was the perfect festival timetable.
Hermitage Green - Golden Rule
The Munster based band, with former Munster Rugby star Barry Murphy at the helm are a band on the up. Nothing showed this more then when they packed the Electric Arena so tight people waited outside just to catch of glimpse of this nu trad band in action.
Cassius - The Sound Of Violence (Aeroplane Remix)
For me, the Casa Bacardi stage was the place to be over the weekend, it had the best DJs, loudest soundsystem and the tastiest drinks menu in the whole place. When Belgian DJ and producer, Aeroplane landed on Friday evening to open the proceedings, his nu disco remix of The Sound Of Violence set the tempo for a great weekend.
Chvrches - Recover
The Scottish electronic band filled the Little Big Tent on Sunday with a live show that impressed many a Picnicer, when they finished with their hit 'Recover' the zealous crowd could be heard singing along from outside the tent, after the inside filled within minutes.
