This Model Showed Just How Easy It Is To Distort Your Body On Instagram

I think we're all aware that Instagram isn't an exact representation of what we're all like. There's your 'good side,' flattering filters and of course, Photoshop. So when Iskra Lawrence's posted these photos with a caption explaining how easy it is to manipulate photos – the world took notice.

Iskra is a woman on a mission to spread body positivity and highlight how Instagram presents an unrealistic standard of beauty. Iskra posted this photo to Instagram to show what she actually looks like, and what appears to be a thigh gap:

She explained on the post,

"Always remember social media's not real life never let anyone else's pics make you feel insecure about yourself. If you don't look like her and she doesn't look like you that's how it's meant to be. You are meant to be YOU no one else, your body is your home so love and respect it. When you look after it beautiful things happens."

Lawrence has 3.4 million followers on Instagram and is based in NYC. She posts regularly always showing her body in an untouched and frank light.

Saw quite a few of you asking what strapless bra I wear, so here it is the @aerie bandeau bralette. I love to avoid underwire but I understand some of you may like that so I have also got an underwired version which I will share pics soon to show the fit. What I love about these bandeaus is the that there is silicon to help stick so it stays up and the back of the bra is wide/ deep so for me it doesn't dig in or create lumps under my clothes... also it comes in a range of cute pastel colours? so I like wearing it under a shirt or something and having it show a bit?‍♀️? #everyBODYisbeautiful #aeriereal Oh & also for anyone wondering this camera is the SonyA6000✨ Oh and.. sorry lol I wear a medium in the bralette and a large in all undies x

She openly talks about having cellulite, how it can be a good thing to actually gaining some weight and how having a positive body image and loving yourself is one of the most important things women can do.

▶️ Posted up This weeks Self-Care Sunday vid yesterday (link to watch in my bio)? And it's about CELLULITE? aka bada$$ ?stripes or ⚡️⚡️⚡️ or cute bubble bumps☁️ the natural way are fat is on our body, that around 95% of women have. It does not define your health or beauty. We were conned by society and the media always retouching it out or shaming celebs or others for having it when it's COMPLETELY NATURAL! So I wanted to make a vid about it and celebrate that pic of #kimk and my girl @omgkenzieee who stunts every Saturday with her #cellulitesaturday movement? This is my natural body, #NOretouching taken in my natural habitat (the kitchen) enjoying my damn self, feeling sexy and real and fully in love with my imperfectly perfect self. ??? Thanks for the pic bbgirl @ashleyjophoto Wearing @aerie bralette & undies #everyBODYisbeautiful

We just want to say, "you go girl" for posting untouched photos and for showing us that Instagram, as well as the modelling industry, show seriously unrealistic images of women's bodies. Let's be real here, in our eyes Iskra looks better than any catwalk model out there.
