Embrace the outdoors, the best places in Dublin sunny weather
Being so blessed with this a four day weekend of sun, there's only one thing to do; Scan Dublin city for the place to lounge out, relax and get a farmers tan.
Whenever there's good weather, you can always depend on Irish people to be out all day, taking over the usually empty parks, that will now be swarming with people catching a few rays. With that in mind, we have put together a list of some of the best and FREE areas in Dublin that are perfect for a couple of cans.
1) The Canal:
The Canal stretches it's way all through the outskirts of Dublin city, with one of the more popular places being by the Barge in Charlemont. This spot usually fills up after 5pm in the evenings, when everyone is finished work and hoping for some sunny pints by the canal with some mates.
Pubs are fickle things, so many variables at play. The Barge had the right combination last Saturday✔️. The sun was shining, the people were friendly and the liquor was cheap (from an off license around the corner). It was a lovely sensation drinking here, it felt borderline nostalgic. There was even a few tower cranes in the background for good measure. Get down here on a sunny day. #thebarge #Dublin #pubspotting #publichouse
2) Pheonix Park:
Even without a concert, the Phoenix Park is still a great spot to hang out during the sunny weather. With views of Áras an Uachtaráin, Dublin Zoo and being surrounded by deer, the Pheonix Park is definitely worth a visit during the week.

3) Stephen's Green:
Of course, this is an obvious one, but we can't leave it out. Smack bang in the middle of the city, it's the best place to spend your lunch break during a busy day at work, as well as enjoying some icecreams with your friends or family.
If you're looking for an escape from Dublin city, the next best place to enjoy the sun is any of the beaches that surround the city. For example, Malahide, Portmarnock, Bray etc are all gorgeous in the sunny weather, and not too much of a trek.
One day at the beach. ☀ This weekend has been pretty incredible for Irish standards, 20°C and a bright blue sky made it possible to thoroughly enjoy the seaside. Some people (probably locals) even dared the cold water in their swimsuits. ? We are not that crazy and we simply strolled around, had some great food, and took plenty of pictures. ?
5) Forty Foot:
Near Dún Laoghaire, another great spot to hang in the sun, Forty Foot is one of the most popular places to go during the short good weather every summer. Voted one of the best places to swim by The New York Times, it never fails to be a good time. Although, it's not much of a swim than an in and out jump, Forty Foot has been enjoyed by many for decades.

6) Botanic Gardens:
This is definitely one of the most popular places for people of all ages. Please exercise caution if you suffer heavily from hay fever. With stunning gardens, walk ways and fountains, this is a great place to spend your day in the sun.
Might take a trip back to the Botanic Gardens at some stage this weekend?? such a lovely place for a wander - especially with this rare, amazing weather that Ireland is currently getting! . . . . . . . . . #sunshine #summer #flowers #botanicalgardens #botanicgarden #dublincity #park #walks #happiness #igersireland #igersdublin #canoneos1300d #amateurphotography #canonphotography #nature #pretty #beautifuldestinations #wildlife #greens #greenhouse #sunnyday #june #nationalbotanicgardens #wandering #adventure #simplethings #prettyflowers #appreciation #instaireland #discoverireland
7) Your Own Back Garden:
If you're stuck at home, don't let that weather go to waste! Stick out a few chairs, a table, get a barbecue going and invite some friends around. A few cans with the lads will never go amiss.
