PSA: Butterbeer Now Available In Dublin

Tapas Bar Drop Dead Twice is offering its patrons 'Butterbeer', the fictional brew made famous by the 'Harry Potter' series.

The bar recently uploaded a Facebook post telling customers of this offer:

They make the beer in two flavours, vanilla and coffee. Drop Dead Twice operates on a 'bring your own cocktail' service, where customers book a time slot, bring their own spirits and pay a once off charge to get into the bar where they have their cocktails made for them.

Here is a list of the ingredients for the cocktail;

  • Vanilla
  • Honey
  • Caramel
  • Lager
  • Apple juice
  • Egg whites
  • Spirit (vodka or gin recommended)

The second recipe for 'Butterbeer' includes:

  • Coffee
  • Butterscotch
  • Vanilla
  • Cream float
  • Spirit (vodka or whiskey recommended)

In other Harry Potter related news, how would you like to work in a Harry Potter themed bar?  Okay, it may be in Exeter... but sure you've always wanted to live in the south west of England.

The Cauldron Inn is a Harry Potter themed pub that is currently on the lookout for new staff. They posted the vacancies on their Facebook page:

The Cauldron Inn boasts moving paintings, floating candles, themed rooms, riddles, selfie mirrors, witches as waiters and even an escape room.

The pub/restaurant has also designed an augmented reality app which will have you solving escape room styled clues in order to earn a discount off your drinks order. Half of these clues will be based in The Cauldron Inn with the other half hidden around Exeter forming part of a magically themed virtual tour.

While the applications for the vacancies are surely flooding in we here at College Times would proceed with caution. Surely the 'magic' of the Harry Potter world would start to fade after the first month of washing dishes & hearing 'Accio waiter' for the umpteenth time.
