Freshers week is upon us and as some of you might know it can be a pretty harrowing time for the newbies. Don't Fret, CollegeTimes is here to help. With so much going on this week it's pretty hard to keep you're bearings let alone find them, so here's a few small tips and hacks for getting by in UCD.
Dress To Impress
But remember, no scarves... You're not in Trinity
Don't ask questions at the end of a lecture
Don't be the reason people have to stay late
Pay your Library Fines
And don't talk in the library.... Or else you'll have Librocop to answer to...
Visit The Bar Once a Week
Drinking at lunch time is all well and good, just don't get a name for yourself!
Just so you don't have to go to the bar by yourself...
Go out During Freshers Week
Every night if you have to. Check out Freshers Festival for 40 nights for €20.
And Join Some Societies
Actual representation of a Dutch Gold society meeting.
Do Whatever It Takes For A Good Parking Spot
Parking spots are like gold dust.. People will do just about anything to get a good spot. Park across the bridge in Woodbine.
And Park Literally Anywhere You Can
UCD students are notorious for parking anywhere that's free.
Avoid Scheduling Classes For The Morning, Or Friday... Or Thursday!
The Ultimate goal for an Arts student. Sleep is essential and being able to schedule a 4 day weekend is without doubt the best part about being in UCD.
Master how to complete assignments with moments to spare
Pick classes with continuous assessment, If you can grasp this concept in first year you might be set for the rest of your life.
Do Not Worry about a job yet
Wait 4 years... Then you can start worrying! Or you could always do a masters in Smurfit.
