The housing crisis in Dublin's City Centre means that students have to go above and beyond to find accommodation. Now a component of Trinity housing, known amongst students as 'Trinity Halls', usually houses students that attend Trinity College but are opening their doors to all students.
Dublin's City Council approved the planning permission to turn blocks 1, 2 and 3 in Dantry, Dublin 6, to use as a temporary tourist or visitor accommodation outside of academic term times. During the academic term students who are registered in a Higher Education Institute will be able to rent the accommodation from the Trinity Halls.
The Halls can accommodate over 1,000 students and is surrounded by gardens with students coming together to make friends and organise events for students who live in the Halls.

In the modern rooms, the accommodation consists of a single bedroom or shared twin bedded ensuite rooms which are grouped in apartments accommodating about six people. These apartments include a well-fitted kitchen/living room and internet connection.
