1. Tycho is the performance name of Scott Hansen who hails from Sacramento, California and his new album Awake is perfect escapism
2. 'Montana' is the second single to be released from Awake and it's sheer bliss, imagine The XX or Boards of Canada after taking a load of prozac and you'll get the idea
3. As well as being a musician, Scott Hansen is also a graphic designer and artist under the pseudonym of ISO50, and it's clear to see how the two intertwine, he designs his own album covers and tour posters
4. The first single from the new album is, just like the album itself, 'Awake', and it's a great chilled out track that brings forth visions of flying at high speed across the desert! Pure escapism..

5. Tycho had been performing as a solo act for the last 10 years since his debut album, Sunrise Projector, but recently added a drummer, Rory O'Connor, and bassist, Zac Brown, for his live shows. Currently the trio are on tour of the U.S. but we hope to see them at some summer festivals
6. So when should you listen to Tycho? Late at night, when travelling, but most importantly, on your own. We're not being loners here but 'me time' is precious and Awake is perfect for such moments
