They Owe You: Totally Valid Reasons for Your Sibling to Give You Their ID

What is even the point of having an older brother or sister if they aren't going to help you out when you need them most. If they really cared about you they'd do it, right? Struggling to convince them that they should hand it over? Try some of these and it might soften them up.

'Remember that time...?'

They owe you. Remind them about that time when you totally stuck up for them? And they were totally in the wrong? Frankly, they owe you after all those times you helped them sneak out and back in when they were underage.

'I'll do anything...'

They can ask for anything from you...within reason. I'm talking chores, bribery or favours. You're not asking them to bury a body or anything so that cute new dress is obviously off limits.

'I'll tell...'

Let's face it. You have tons of dirt on them. You have access to their diary, their computer. You can talk trash to their friends or that guy that she has a crush on. Do they really want to risk it?

'Come on! Don't you care?'

Older siblings always want to protect their younger brothers or sisters. So think of all the things that could happen if they didn't give you their ID. Example one: you get caught without an ID and would be in more trouble! It's not a huge deal and you'll totally make it up to them.

'I can't not go...'

Do they really want you to miss out on tonight and be labeled a social pariah for the rest of the year? Do they have a problem with you having a good time? Do they?

'I promise I won't lose it!'

You're more likely to take care of it because you remember what happened when you borrowed their shirt and ruined it. It still hurts. Your sister is crazy.

'We are basically identical!'

There is no way that it won't work. They have nothing to worry about. Besides, they're not using it so it would just be a waste to have you both sitting at home doing nothing.

'Be cool!'

Don't they want to be seen as the cool older brother/sister? Or would they prefer narc, loser, boring? Being cool is earned, don't they know that already?
